Amazon Fire TV 4K Stick (24358485) Review
Outside of movie theaters, all of our media these days is consumed online. We get our news from websites, and watch the rest of our movies and TV shows from the comfort of our couch, without the burden of a cable bill. How, you may ask?
The Amazon Fire TV 4k Stick.
The Amazon Fire Stick was a game changer when we started shifting more towards streaming our content. We were initially quite hesitant to eliminate our regular cable package, but once we gave this a try, we will never (and we mean ever) go back. Gone are the days of hundreds of useless channels; with the Amazon Fire Stick, we simply plugged it in to our TV, walked through the simple setup, and were ready to go within minutes.
We signed into our favorite streaming services, each serving a unique purpose, and we’re so glad we made the switch.
The Fire Stick 4K connects directly to the HDMI port on the backs of our TV, and it gave us the ability to stream the highest quality content that our internet allowed. That’s generally the real challenge with any type of streaming – internet quality. Still, with the Fire Stick’s Dual Band Wi-Fi 5, we noticed strong connections with nearly no lag. Plus in our book.
We were also pleasantly surprised to use Alexa on an increasingly consistent basis. She was able to consistently find the content we were looking for, and easily took us where we were looking to go, instead of spending time swiping and clicking on the remote’s plastic buttons in order to find longer titles like “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” or a specific installment of our favorite “Harry Potter” film.
The Fire Stick does offer remote app integration to your phones and other devices, and we’re more than happy to type that way, as well. Still, the remote itself has everything we need to play, pause, rewind, fast forward, and mute content quickly.
The Amazon Fire Stick 4K with Alexa gave us the ability to access all of our content quickly and a way we could navigate easily; it also packs super easily for travel! We headed out of town to a vacation rental, and it was so nice to bring our existing media setup with us, plugging it in, connecting to wifi, and letting the kids have some TV time. We watched a movie as a group, and were so happy to avoid renting a DVD from somewhere nearby.
We’ve shared about the Fire Stick with many of our friends, and are happy to give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
