SanDisk 128GB microSDXC Memory Card Review
The Nintendo Switch is an excellent piece of hardware that is pretty much the defining handheld gaming device of this generation. It has unique controls, tons of exclusive games, and portability. But nothing is perfect. The Nintendo Switch may have a lot of things, but what it doesn’t have is a whole lot of storage space, and that’s a problem. After all, video games are getting larger every single time a new one comes out: fact of the matter is, the base Nintendo Switch only has enough space for a few games, and that’s dependent on what games you are getting.
Thankfully, the Nintendo Switch also has a slot for memory cards, so all it takes to expand the storage available for the device is money. One such memory card you could buy is the SanDisk 128GB microSDXC. Of course, there isn’t much to say about it: it’s a memory card, it does exactly what you think it does. This one is officially licensed by Nintendo, so you can be sure that it is compatible with the Switch, though most memory cards are anyway. Either way, it’s some nice insurance.
As for specs, this memory card is a great choice for gaming on the Switch because of its speeds. Faster data read and write times means that everything will go more quickly. It won’t take your games as much time to load or save, so overall everything can go more smoothly. For this particular memory card, the read speeds go up to 100 megabytes a second, and the write speeds go up to 90 megabytes a second. Because this memory disk is specifically designed for gaming, you’d be hard-pressed to find better speeds, where such aspects are most useful.
Naturally, the actual storage provided is important to consider as well. This particular memory card offers approximately 128 GB of storage space, which can let you add a significant number of games to your roster. If 128 GB is not enough for your needs, the memory card is also available in a 256 GB variety. If you don’t need that much, a 64 GB variant is available as well. Naturally, the more storage you buy, the more the product will cost, so there’s no need to buy more storage than you feel you need.
Other than that, the only other thing to talk about is the warranty, which is another good reason to buy a Nintendo licensed memory card instead of a third-party one. The warranty is lifetime length for people buying the USA. For anyone living in a country that does not recognize or use lifetime warranties, such as Germany, Canada, etc., the warranty is 30 years. Either way, both are quite generous.
Finally, this memory is quite cheap. The 128 GB model is less than $30 not including taxes. So, if you need more space on your Nintendo Switch, this is one of the best options on the market right now.
