Nintendo Switch Online includes all sorts of nice benefits, and those benefits got even better lately with the recent update to their retro games library. Now there are over 60 NES and SNES games available with Nintendo Switch Online, including popular classics like Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Super Mario World. Certainly not bad old school games to revisit at any rate. Normally you’d have to pay $20 USD for a full year of Nintendo Switch Online, which is, quite frankly, very affordable. That said, even though $20 USD is cheap, you know what’s even cheaper? Free. If you have Amazon Prime right now, you can get a full year of Nintendo Switch Online for Free.
To be fair, the deal is actually related to Twitch Prime, but if you have Amazon Prime, you have that too. The way this works is a little convoluted, but still easy enough to take advantage of.
Here’s How To Get Nintendo Switch Online Free
- Sign in to your Twitch Prime account
- Select the option to claim 3 months of free Switch Online membership
- Log in again in sixty days after your initial claim
- Claim another nine months of subscription at no cost
Even better, you can tack all this free subscription time to pre-existing time that you already have. So even if you already paid your subscription for the year, you can get the next year for free with just this deal alone.
Of course Amazon Prime is kind of expensive, but if you already have it then you may as well get more free stuff out of your money. And if you have a Switch but have never had an Amazon Prime account, you can just sign up for the thirty day free trial that Twitch Prime offers. Granted, that thirty day trial will only net you the opportunity to get the first three months of Switch Online, but that’s better than nothing is you are determined to pay no money at all.
Remember, Switch Online greatly enhances the value of a Nintendo Switch, providing you not only with access to multiplayer features, but that aforementioned classic games library that now includes over 60 NES and SNES games. So if you have a Nintendo Switch, there’s really no reason to skip out on acquiring either 3 months or a year of free subscription services.
