In the exact same vein as Xbox Live Gold subscribers, those who subscribe to PlayStation Plus receive free games every month. It’s generally a mixed bag as to what kind of games you get, but they’re usually announced just a few days in advance of the month itself, and we can rest easy this time, knowing that some pretty great games will be free for PlayStation Plus members this September.

The two games that will become available for PS Plus subscribers on September 3rd are Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders 3. You’ll be able to download these games for free from the PlayStation Store, up until September 30th. However, you have until September 2nd to download the two free games for August, Sniper Elite 4 and the WipeOut Omega Collection. Free is free, so be sure to snatch those up while you still can if you’ve forgotten to thus far.

Darksiders 3 is a hack and slash adventure game that was released in 2018. In this game, you play as Fury, one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Using a vast array of weapons and abilities, including whips, daggers, and powerful elemental magic, you’ll be tracking down the Seven Deadly Sins. With a third person perspective, there are many puzzles to solve, crafting to engage in, and platforming to master.

Batman: Arkham Knight, is another third-person, single-player action adventure game from 2015. Taking control of the titular character, you’ll be able to explore an open world Gotham City using iconic vehicles like the Batmobile or even your own cape to glide around. With the nefarious villains Scarecrow and Arkham Knight declaring war on the city and forcing all civilians to evacuate, you stand alone to fight against the criminals that remain, using your arsenal of martial prowess and innovative gadgets.

Naturally, PlayStation Plus isn’t a free service, and it’s not exactly a cheap one either. But if your subscriptions is going to run out soon and you’d like to renew it as cheaply as possible, there is a sweet deal going on eBay right now, in which you can get a 12 month membership, usually $60, at a discounted $40. You can stack these 12 months on top of however much time you have left right now, so you don’t have to worry about any issues on that end.

And of course, PlayStation Plus offers free games every single month, so ultimately, you’re getting a lot more out of that money than it seems: namely about two dozen free games a year. Either way, you can definitely look forward to two highly praised titles come September, and don’t forget to grab the Free August games if you haven’t already.
