In usual fashion, Sony has finally decided to inform the masses as to what games they will be receiving for the month of November, provided they are subscribers to PlayStation Plus. We’re confident in saying that it is quite possibly one of the best months that the program has ever had. First up are two highly praised major titles, those being Hollow Knight: Voidheart edition and Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Each of these great games will be free starting on November 3. Both of them are excellent games, but there’s actually better news, as the most exciting freebie included in November is actually the bonus title, Bugsnax. Indeed, the PlayStation exclusive title will be free on launch day.
Although Bugsnax will release on both the PS5 and PS4 on November 12, it’s the PS5 version, and only the PS5 version, that will be available for PS Plus subscribers. That being said, players will have a longer than usual window of time than usual to claim Bugsnax, with the promotion running all the way until January 4th. Bugsnax is a story-based puzzle game that features a diverse array of characters with the same name. Since its reveal this past summer, Bugsnax has been one of the most talked-about holiday games in large part due to how quirky and charming it appears to be.
However, while Bugsnax is definitely worth noting, we still can’t ignore the other games being offered up this time around either. After all, you’ll have several months to grab Bugsnax, but only November to grab Hollow Knight and Shadow of War, which we’ll cover briefly here.
Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition not only includes the main metroidvania style game, but it also includes the four DLC packs as well. If you’ve somehow missed out on this hit game all this time, November will be your chance to grab it for free, or about as free as being a subscriber to something is concerned. Hollow Knight has a huge and unique world with tons of secrets to unearth, and it has universally great reviews, with many of them praising the combat, scope, and aesthetic.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an action-RPG set in The Lord of the Rings universe. It is the sequel to Shadow of Mordor from 2014 and further expands on the Nemesis system that was so popular the first time around. At the same time, it also adds more strategy to combat encounters to spice up all those fights. Admittedly, Shadow of War’s story is a little weak, and at times it suffers from having too many systems in play simultaneously, but even so, it’s still a very good game that is worth even more if you are a LOTR fan, though you don’t need to be one to enjoy it for its mechanics.
Keep in mind that the free games for October will still be available until November 2nd, so be sure to grab them if you haven’t already!
