The COVID-19 pandemic continues to worsen: it really seems like we’ll be stuck in quarantine for several more weeks, which isn’t too welcome. That said, social distancing and confinement is a perfect time to need more new games to play, and thanks to another great sale on the PS4, new games are available for those who don’t have them, and at pretty good prices. The discounts are mostly for games developed by Japanese companies, such as Dark Souls, Megaman, Final Fantasy, and much more.

What is the ‘Big in Japan’ sale?
The Big in Japan sale comes around pretty often, but it is coming a little early this year, offering discounts on Japanese developed games that are quite popular in that country, and overseas as well. The sale is probably coming a little early due to the Coronavirus situation, as now is when a lot of people are stuck indoors and need something to do. Coincidentally, the Big in Japan sale is overlapping with the ongoing Spring Sale that ends on April 29th. However, the Big in Japan sale is going on until May 8th, so there’s a lot more time to make a decision regarding those games.
The Best ‘Big in Japan’ sale deals
Resident Evil
Some noteworthy sales include Resident Evil 4 through 6 from Capcom. All three of the games have received excellent discounts, making them only $8 each.
Devil May Cry
The Devil May Cry series of games are also seeing some steep discounts, with the deluxe edition of DMC 5 only costing $25. Most of the older Devil May Cry games are on sale as well, including the HD Collection for $15, DMC 4: Special Edition for $7.50, and Devil May Cry Definite Edition for $10.

Capcom’s Megaman 30th Anniverary bundle is also on sale at $40.19, offering all 11 main Megaman titles and all 8 Mega Man X titles.
Final Fantasy
Many titles from Square Enix are on sale as well, with Final Fantasy titles being upfront and center. Naturally, this does not include the Final Fantasy VII Remake, seeing as how that game has just come out. But if you’re in a mood for Final Fantasy titles, there’s plenty of discounts to be had. Whether you need an action style hack and slash or an hours-long RPG, there’s a game on sale for you here.
When does the ‘Big in Japan’ sale end?
The sale is ending on Friday, May 8th at 8am PST, so while the end isn’t imminent, it’s not too terribly far off either. If you are interested, getting your hands on the games you want sooner rather than later is advisable.
