2020 was a rough year for media, even the ever-popular Star Wars series. But thankfully for fans, Ubisoft has kicked off 2021 by announcing their partnership with Lucasfilm Games and Disney in order to produce a brand-new Star Wars game. The development team in charge will be led by Julian Gerighty and Mass Entertainment, a duo that is most well-known for the game series “The Division.”
Quite possibly one of the most popular Star Wars games of all time, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords has long been denied the mobile release that its predecessor received, much to the chagrin of its many, many fans. However, that state of affairs will soon be over, as this highly popular Star Wars game is finally getting a mobile release. First and foremost, it’s worth noting that this will be available on both iOS and Android devices, so whatever your preference, you won’t be hurting for the game.
If you fondly remember a certain podracing game back in the old gaming days of yore, you may recall that it was called Star Wars: Episode I Racer. And it was, naturally, the best game ever considering that the podrace scene may have been the best part of Phantom Menace. It certainly competes for the title, at any rate.
The most recently announced Star Wars game from EA has a lot of hype going for it, especially since it is an especially rare breed of Star Wars game, what with the first-person flying and all. That said, this title was revealed very recently, so not many people knew much about it. Now though, we have some more info to share with the expectant masses regarding everything we know about Star Wars: Squadrons at this exact moment.
Whether it was an accident or intentional, a leak from the official Xbox website has revealed a brand-new Star Wars game that is on its way, called Star Wars: Squadrons. Thanks to the leaks coming out all over the internet, Electronic Arts went ahead and announced the title officially. The announcement of this game was likely not far off anyway, as EA’s postponed Play event is only a few days away. The leak itself only showed art for the game and a pre-order banner, though that banner doesn’t currently lead to any active website.
After buyouts, multiple streaming deals, studio switches, and many years in between, the fan favorite animated series Star Wars: the Clone Wars is finally set to premier its monumental final season exclusively on Disney Plus. For many longtime fans who haven’t freshened up on the Clone Wars in a while and for the many thousands of new fans who were brought in by the beloved franchise’s other numerous properties who are excited to jump straight first into this season, Disney has officially revealed the episodes you need to go back and watch in order to get all caught up instead of cramming every single previous Clone Wars episode!
There was a time, distant though it may be, when Electronic Arts was considered one of the most prominent game publishers of the day; a true pioneer of fun and exciting gaming content, with titles like Dead Space, Need for Speed, and Burnout. One of the things that most of those games had it common was their focus on single player content, and being complete package on the day of release. Both of those are hard to come by with EA games these days, and people have been mercilessly ridiculing the publisher for that very reason.
While we’ve known about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order since it was revealed back at E3 of 2018, we’ve only recently received a release date for it, that being November 15th of 2019. It’ll launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, though PC distribution will be handled solely through EA’s Origin Store. The game, being developed by Respawn Entertainment of Titanfall and Apex Legends renown, will be entirely single-player.
Star Wars has never been an especially deep movie franchise. The basic gist of good versus evil, but in space, has always been its driving force. Sure, the prequels added a lot more gray to the whole Jedi versus Sith business, showing that it was less about good and evil and more about one side versus another, regardless of who was allegedly ‘the good guys.’

Whether you were a long term, die-hard fan of the books or you were a convert to the popular cult classic video game series, it’s hard to find someone who isn’t absolutely obsessed with the Netflix original series starring Henry Calvill, The Witcher. A recent Business Insider article reports that despite a declining U.S. audience (the series streamed in full back a few months back), it is still “the most in-demand TV series across all platforms globally, according to data firm Parrot Analytics.” Reporter Travis Clark writes that The Witcher, as well as the Disney+ original series The Mandalorian, “have been locked in a battle for audience demand since the former premiered in December (the latter debuted in November), and it’s a preview of what’s to come in the streaming wars. Both shows exhibit qualities that make a streaming series a hit… including sci-fi and fantasy themes inspired by popular source material.”
Ever since Star Wars Battlefront II launched with a multiplayer progression system heavily influenced by loot boxes, the gaming world has frowned on such systems without fail. The community doesn’t like the idea of a player’s progression being significantly affected by how much money they’re willing to pour into microtransactions. That being said, microtransactions do not necessarily equate to loot boxes, something a lot of people tend to forget. Halo Infinite will have microtransactions. However, it will not have loot boxes.
While fans spend hours and hours of time debating the controversial Skywalker saga and catching up on season one of the Mandalorian, the creative team at Disney is already cooking up their next major Star Wars adventures, the mysteriously named multi-media initiative known as Project Luminous. According to the team over at Screenrant, this new phase in Disney’s expansion of the Star Wars universe with the creative minds over at Lucasfilm will set up the next several years of Star Wars stories, potentially something so big it will impact the full multi-media landscape ranging from the popular Star Wars comic series by Marvel, their award winning video games, and most definitely on their recently launched streaming service.
